Payday loan for swift In 2010 i was in dire financial difficulty without a penny to my name and 4 children to feed. i took a payday loan from swift for about £100. I repayed this and then then next month most stupidly took another payday loan for £200. Unfortunately I lost my job unexpectedly and defaulted my payment. the company added more and more interest even though i told them I wasnt in a position to pay it all back at the time. They never came back to me. they kept adding interest until i owed £1166. I have continually told them i coulld not pay that much they never offered me a payment plan but kept telling me i could pay them £500 and they would close the debt, i still insisted I couldnt afford this. Today they have taken £500 out of my account using my debit card details. that is more than half my salary i cant afford it. I phoned the rbs and they said I have to wait a couple of days before disputing the transaction. Meanwhile swift have sent a nasty email saying that in my original contract i have agreed for them to do this and if i complain to my bank then i will be in trouble for fraudulently disputing the transaction. They said i now owe them £666 unless I reply to their email and then they will drop the other £666. can a company hold your debit card details and even though i agreed they could take the money out of my account on a specified date can they legally take it today? I want to pay my debts, I dont want to owe money but I would like the company to act fairly and legally |
