Default Alternative to IVA

Hi there,

Wondered whether anyone could help or have had any dealings with this sort of thing ?
I am in an IVA at the moment and only just started it 3 months ago but due to my wife being unable to work any longer and waiting to see if she can get disability may have to take a 6 month break. However i have had a few phonecalls from a company called consumer action group who state that they can get rid of your debt in 1 year instead of the 5-6 the IVA would take and it would save me £9000 in the end.
The process is through a voluntary bankruptcy and they state that as long as your in negative equity they can help an theres no way you wil have any problems with your house being taken off you.
The IVA thats set up will save me in the long run but i am woried about the future with my wifes position plus the 5th year when they take your equity into account if you have any also worries me as i am trying to get out of debt not get more by having to remortgage, so paying the debt of in `1 year sounds great but wondered whether this company is real or if anyone had dealings or new anything about such a thing ?
Cheers

Cutting it down from 5 to 1 sounds to good to be true. I don't personally know how they would do that. All I can say is I haven't heard of it before and haven't seen anyone else offering the service.

Hey i would add A Debt Management Plan is one of the alternatives to an IVA. This type of plan also allows you to make a reduced and affordable monthly payment to your unsecured creditors.
If you fit the IVA criteria, we would always recommend that you explore that option first as there are additional IVA benefits which are not applicable with a debt management plan. For example, a debt management plan does not guarantee the freezing of interest and charges, offers no amount of debt relief and the plan will continue until you have repaid your unsecured debts in full.
hope u would agree with it..
thanks.....
