If the credit card company have been trying to contact you for the period since you moved house then the debt is still valid. Unfortunately it is your obligation to inform creditors of yout change of address.

The debt will not be 'statute barred' if they creditor has been making the effort to contact you so you do still legaly owe them the money. Even though they thave been wrighting to a previous address the debt is still valid and they may even be able to add charges for the cost of locating you.

Also even if the debt was considered barred the origional company may still ask you to repy it through a debt collectiong agency.

go and speak to the citizens advice bureau and see what they advise, they may even put you in the direction of a debt advisor where they will be able to construct a plan for you - that suits your lifestyle.
