even though you're on a tight budget, dont skimp on the photos cos them and your memories are all you'll have in a couple of years, and sometimes memories fade. you need quality photos and dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

Invite just close friends and family. Then after your ceremony go for either a meal in a restaurant or have a buffet at your local hall or parents house.
Buy your wedding cake from Tesco and get someone to decorate it for you. that will cut down costs. Get several friends to take photos and get spare sets so you have plenty of photos as photographers are over priced. Make your invites yourself and save pounds.
Buy your dress on eBay or shop around for the best deal. Only have one bridesmaid.
Ask for vouchers or cash as gifts.

Well done, Me and my partner are in the exact same boat as you and we have just decided to have it in the registry office.

There are a few things we have looked into as ways of saving money...

--Try and find a family member or friend with a nice car who would be willing to drive it as the wedding car. Putting a ribbon on is way cheaper than hiring them

--Get your wedding dress/ bridesmaid dresses from highstreet stores with specialised wedding stores... i.e Debenhams (http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&lang Id=-1&userType=G&categoryId=59856) or BHS .(http://www.bhs.co.uk/mall/departmentpage.cfm/bhsstore/91594/1/1)

--Go for a cheap venue and get your own caterers in - shop around too - get loads of quotes

--Make your own invites and favors for the table. It will be enjoyable and less expensive

--Overall, remember that you could spend £50,000 on a wedding and it can be ruined in an instant. The day is what you and the guests make of it

Good luck - Please let me know if you have any other ideas, as we are in the same boat (with added problems with my family hating eachother - but i wont go into that!!)

Try to scale down on the guest list. Food and reception venue usually bears most of the costs. Also doing it at a public park or something sentimental to you and your husband to be. Have friends help with flowers and make the decorations yourself. Have a friend with a nice digital camera do photography. Then you can digitize the photos and save on a formal photographer's fee...which can be thousands. An I-pod can serve as a good DJ. Do a buffet style meal instead of plated, you will save a lot of money that way...or have the bride and groom's family make food. People love to help and get involved in a wedding and it will be a nice way to have them feel like they are part of your special day! Hope this helps, and congrats!

My friend got her dress on ebay for under £150 it is beautiful - Also on ebay they have small decorative items that are really cheap and wedding favours! Have a gilrie day with wine, nibbles and good music and make the bridsmaid dresses. Ask all guest to bring food instead of gifts for the party! Have a great day!!!!

My mothers is a wedding organizer.
As I know that you have to classified with something very important thing what you expected in your marriage. like big party or just little party with simple & humility times.
If you have a little budget, just concern to attendant list, documentation (photo & video memories) & meal. Good luck!!
