Why buy gold when you can find it yourself. There is lots of it in Alaska. Its not as cold here as you think. And right now the price of an ounce of gold is pretty high.

Gold is NOT a good investment, look at the price of gold over the last 30 years and compare it to other investments.
Buying gold is like putting money in the bank on the up side, but it also has the potential for a down side.
Ever hear of someone retiring early on their gold investments.
I think better investments could be found thru funds invested in the stock market, but you must compare and judge for yourself.

According to me gold is good investment for retirement plans, you will get good amount of reward by your investment. I agree that there is risk also if you invest proplerly that it's good to invest in gold.
