Default Would people ask such provocative and inflammatory questions if Yahoo...

...didn't protect their identity? It seems that lots of people just want to provoke a reaction by insulting others, by asking questions like: Do Americans...... or should Muslims.......Am i taking Answers too seriously or am i not alone by thinking these people wouldn't ask cr&p questions and offer such ignorant views if we weren't hidden here by Yahoo?

I agree with you, but despite that i think the anonymity is a good thing rather than a bad one. Not having anonymity would open users to all sorts of unwarranted and unfair personal abuse which the present system protects them from

In answer - no I don't think they would.

I believe yahoo should have 3 difference areas for these Questions and Answers.

One for the perverts and retards of our society - anything goes.

One for intelligent and genuine people using questions and answers intelligently and as a source of knowledge.

One for children only - Only Children up to Age 14 can use.

Parents could then set priorities within their child's Yahoo to prevent their children coming into contact with the perverts and morons of our society.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion.

You are probably right. Anonymity isn't always a great thing
