no - most go to live with families or rent private

unless previously on the waiting list for a council house - the council will say you've made yourself intentionally homeless - and so you're not entitled to a house - silly when you consider most previous home owners actually paid taxes! and weren't scroungers

Default with all these repossessions that are apparently happening, where are all...

...these people living? re-homed? Are they being rehomed by the local authorties or family. As alot of people are in the same situation wondering how they will cope if it does get worse, or if they lose their jobs I am sure they are wondering the same. I mean at the moment the council can not home alot of people (well unless you are foreign) and some large families are stuck in two bedroom flats because there is no where for them to go?

Most either have to live with family and friends or are put into temporary accommodation by there council, which means run down B&Bs and hostels. The government really didn't think about how allowing people to buy there council homes would affect those people who couldn't afford to rent let alone buy a home. council housing should have been reserved for those who desperatly needed it not those who could afford to buy elsewhere. Now the goverment is selling all the council properties to housing associations and building companies which will cause even more probabily for people who need a cheap place to live.
