Default how many months can you be late on your home mortgage before the mortgage

company notifies of repossession? Say, no payments made from June 2007, how many months of non-payment before the mortgage company takes action. And, what actions are taken? Do they file a notice to the homeowner? Is it Public Notice that everyone can see, and where is it posted?

The initial proceedings generally start with a solicitors letter. This letter will notify you that if you do not pay within 7 days court proceeding will begin. After the period the lender will seek a possession order from the court. At the hearing the judge will try and ascertain if repossession can be avoided the case is normally adjourned until more info has been collected. This can take several months

many banks here in california are not following through on the repo, because it results in their assets being marked down, and then they have less to borrow against. some believe another housing bubble is going to burst here in the states. I realize it is different for you of the UK
