Default PAYE tax number help?

Hello,
I need to find my PAYE number

and I am confused as to where I find this information. I have my NI number but not PAYE.
Please could you help me find this? is there a number i could call?

Employer can tell you, all employees come under the umbrella of his tax number. If not currently employed, it will still be under last employer's number.
If you don't have a form P60 or form P45 (both of which should show number on top of form), you can phone tax office. Staff won't tell you over the phone for security purposes, but there is no reason why they can't write it in a compliment slip and post it to you.

Your PAYE number will be on your P60 - near the top and will be something like: 123/A123.
If you can't find it, ask your employer. HMRC will not give you this info over the phone.
